Tim Kaine is a smart man. He might have been a better lead candidate than Hillary Clinton. But his assertion that Donald Trump’s firing of James Comey is about his ‘insecurity’ is only half accurate.

When I began this blog, I mentioned that it would be mostly links to other well written articles on the progressive life and movement. But I also said that there would be occasional commentary. This is one such occasion.

There is no doubt Donald Trump is quite possibly the most insecure billionaire in the history of the world. He has taken every opportunity to publicly shame women, but he also takes a strange pleasure in discussing his girth and sexual prowess. His proclivity for shaming others while attempting to prove his own superiority are the hallmarks of an extremely insecure man. I could sit here and hazard some guesses as to where the insecurity (his father) and hatred of women 9same) originate, but I am not a psychiatrist and that is not the intent of this article.

I said that Tin Kaine was only half right. So what else led to Comey’s firing other than his fear over the investigation into his ties with Russia? His pure hatred of Hillary Clinton.

The Trump campaign had two distinguishable ‘catch phrases’ last year. Build the wall. Lock her up.
He knows that the build the wall campaign is almost an impossible promise to keep. He always knew this and still does. But the lock her up promise? That is easy.

Donald Trump is taking a page directly out of dictatorial handbooks. Lock your opponents up. When the FBI Director makes public statements that nothing criminal occurred, he is dispensable. Neither Donald Trump nor Jeff Sessions gave the clues as to what lay next in their letters; but Rod Rosenstein most certainly did in his letter.

At the bottom of this post are all three letters, but skip to the bottom letter and read the second paragraph and you will have all the clues you need.

‘I cannot defend the director’s handling of the conclusion of the investigation of Secretary Clinton’s emails…’

There you have it, the truth behind this move. Simply put, Trump fired Comey because he refused to lock up Clinton. In dictatorial regimes, the leader creates acquiescence to his will by locking up (or assassinating) those who oppose him.

I think there are really only going to be two questions asked of the next director in interviews 1) Will you prosecute Hillary Clinton? 2) Will you drop the Russia investigation? If both are answered in the affirmative, then the new director will be named very quickly. Be prepared, because Hillary Clinton is on Trump’s list of enemies. He will look to send a message to all who oppose him that they will potentially suffer the same consequence of defiance.

We must be stronger now than ever before.
